10 Years Of Marriage

Thursday, August 7, 2025

Ten years ago today, I married my wife. The wedding was small and largely DIY — friends and family offered what they could, and thankfully we had just the right mix of skills and gear to have a great party in my Aunt's garden. It was the happiest day of our lives to that point.

And we're still going strong. Two kids; a life built together. Both growing as a couple and as individuals. Learning from our mistakes and our struggles, and working on it. Trusting one another to work on it. Always managing to honour our commitments to one another.

There isn't too much more to say. Marriage is too intimate for this blog, really. My other 10-year retrospective posts have detailed the ups and downs of eating plants and daily-driving Linux, but this is more private (sorry nerds, there are things more private than Linux). I am immensely grateful to and for my wife, all her support and love, her relentless diligence as a mother. And now if you'll excuse me, we're off for a short hike and picnic to celebrate.
