The last week of the summer break.

Happenings

  • We planned to have friends round for pizza, and then have another pizza night a couple of days later to use up ingredients. Unfortunately, those friends took ill and had to cancel. I'd already made the dough and we had all the toppings ready to go... anyway, we ended up eating homemade pizza three nights in a row.
  • The Flags are all over my street. This is disappointing.
  • Preparing to go back to the classroom. Planning, getting stationery, setting up my Obsidian stuff for the year, and so on.
  • Also went into school to make more progress clearing out a large stock cupboard that has been a pain ever since I started working here 3 years ago. Every shelf, floor to ceiling full of useless junk. Clearing it has been such a big job the only time I've been able to find time is going in during break.
  • Got some last house jobs I'd been putting off all summer done — fixed a wobbly tap, put up some curtains and ceiling shades.
  • Went to IKEA for the first time since I was a child. I was expecting to have a nice time enjoying the designs, but actually, it was completely packed and we had two grumpy children, and with a shopping trolley, pram, and screaming children, it felt like stopping to look at any design was both an obstruction and annoyance to everyone around us. Really rather stressful.
  • Took Mr One for his vaccinations. He was great, cried for about a minute then settled down.
  • End of Blaugust... I'll do one last post later, probably.
