Weekly digest 33
Sunday, August 3, 2025If you're new here for Blaugust, these are my week notes, inconsistently posted on most Sundays. They have little life updates, and often some links (if I actually found anything interesting this week, which sometimes I don't).
Happenings
- Second week of the summer break.
- Started constructing a new crossword. I'll try to finish it before the end of the month but I work very slowly.
- One of my oldest friends came round to help me look after the little ones on Thursday. We took them to the playground, and it played out exactly as you'd expect for two childhood friends going to the playground...
- The registrar for my personal email domain that I've used for about 10 years cranked the price outrageously to £70 a year, after years of being roughly £30. I've started the process of transfering to another registrar, where at least this year it will only cost about £15.
- Went to choose my wife an anniversary present, something I generally find very difficult!
- Getting sick of these Cloudflare "verifying you're human" pages. I get why they're there, but they break my Read-Later app's ability to fetch articles and send them to my eReader.
- Took my father out for some climbing and a meal, as a late Father's day thing. It was good fun. We got seated at a restaurant and then ran away when we saw the prices.
Links
