Happenings

  • Monday was a day to start the week. Thought my car had broken down. It hadn't, it was the steering lock, which I didn't even know was a thing on this car. So I was late for work, found I had an unexpected cover lesson first period. Then period two had an unexpected fire alarm thanks to a melted-chocolate mishap in the cookery rooms.
  • Broadband was down for most of the week — damaged fibre cable.
  • Littlest one is finally better, so I'm back in my own bed after over a week of sleeping downstairs with him to avoid him waking his brother.
  • Got our first ever crop of home-grown vegetables yesterday. A haul of courgettes
  • Made some courgette fritters with Mr 3 today, great fun.
  • Wife finally got a proper pay packet following her maternity leave and suddenly our finances don't look so bleak.

On this site

There is now a page about podcasts. I also removed the /now page because these weekly posts more-or-less summarise that.

Links

  • I'm done with Google — somehow PewDiePie is like radicalising his fanbase to the free software movement and it's so entertaining. I'd literally never watched anything by him until his unexpected Linux conversion.

No links really; as I say, broadband was down most of the week.

Reading

Still reading Stories Of Your Life and Others by Ted Chiang. Listening on audiobook to A Physical Education by Casey Johnston, her memoir about starting lifting.

Playing

A bit stuck on Genchiro in Sekiro. Great fight though.
